Kadalai ellu urundai is simple and instant snack in kongunadu regions. This no fail sweet & perfect for winter season. No white sugar required.

Ingredients

  • Peanut [Nilakadalai, moong phali] – 1/2 cup
  • Sesame - 1/2 cup
  • Jaggery - 1 cup
  • Water –3 tbsp
  • Ghee – 3 tbsp
  • Cardamom powder – 1/2 tsp

Method

  • Grease the tray with ghee.
  • Dry roast peanut till crisp, let it cool then peel off the skin
  • Roast sesame seeds until it splutters
  • Heat another pan add jaggery and water, let it boil till hard ball consistency
  • Then add ground peanut mixture, cut off heat, mix well
  • Then add cardamom powder
  • Transfer this to ghee greased tray. Spread evenly.
  • Leave it for 2 min make balls immedaitely
  • Put this in an airtight container. Use it for 7 days
