One pot radish sambar | Mullangi sambar-How to make step by step photos

Cuisine Style: Tamil Nadu, South India | Cooking Time: 10 minutes | To Serve: 4 | Take with: Idli, Dosa, Rice, Chapathi | Type : Sambar, Gravy, kulambu, curry, masala.
Ingredients
- Radish – 1 cup [cut into circles]
- Toor dal – ¼ cup
- Tamarind water – 1 ½ tbsp [soak tamarind in warm water, squeeze &extract water]
- Tomato – 1 [chopped]
- Sambar Onion [Shallots] - 7
- Dry red chilli -1
- Green chilli – 1 [slit]
- Garlic – 2 cloves
- Curry leaves – 1 spring
- Coriander leaves – 2 springs [chopped]
- Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
- Red chilli powder – ½ tsp
- Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
- Asafetida a pinch
- Salt to taste
- Oil – 2 tbsp
- Water as needed
For roasting and grinding ingredients
- Fenugreek seeds – 1 tbsp [grind separately]
- Coriander seeds - 1 tbsp
- Cumin seeds – 1 tbsp
- Peppercorns – 4
- Heat pan then dry roast above ingredients & grind to fine or coarse powder
Method
- Wash toor dal.
- Heat pressure cooker add toor dal, tomato, onion, green chilli, garlic, turmeric, red chilli powder, radish, asafoetida, gingelly oil cover lid & cook for 3 to 4 whistles.
- Heat pan with oil then add mustard seeds.
- Add dry red chilli, curry leaves, asafoetida, fenugreek seeds powder.
- Add pressure cooked toor dal mixture, let it boil.
- Add tamarind water mix well.
- Add coriander, cumin & pepper powder mix well
- Cut off heat & sprinkle coriander leaves, serve hot with rice, idli or dosa.
How to make One pot radish sambar-Step by step photos
Toor dal
Heat pressure cooker add toor dal, tomato, garlic, turmeric, green chilli, gingelly oil 
Add onion
Add asafoetida
Cover lid & cook for 3 to 4 whistles
After 4 whistles, mash well
Add oil, add mustard, asafoetida, curry leaves, fenugreek powder & dry red chilli
Add toor dal mixture, turmeric powder, let it boil
Add coriander, cumin & pepper powder
Add tamarind water, let it boil
Cook for 5 min
Add coriander leaves, cut off heat
One pot radish sambar ready, serve hot with rice, idli or dosa
