Ingredients

  • Moong dal[Pasiparuppu] - 1 cup
  • Jaggery [Vellam]- 1 to ¾ cup
  • Ghee - ½ cup
  • Water - ½
  • Cardamom powder – ½ tbsp
  • Cashew nuts - 5
  • Pistachios - 2
  • Borneo-Camphor (Pachai Karpooram) - size of mustard seed

Preparation

  • Wash and soak moong dal for 2 hours then drain water & coarsely grind without water.
  • Heat ghee in a pan add cashew nuts & pistachios roast then keep it aside.
  • Heat pan add grated jaggery & water let it boil.
  • Heat another pan add ghee & ground moong dal sauté well
  • Then add melted jaggery mix well & let it thickens.
  • Finally add cardamom powder, Pachai Karpooram & roasted nuts cut off heat.
  • Serve hot or cold.
