Simple semiya kichadi By

Ingredients

  • Semiya [Vermicelli] – 1 cup
  • Tomato – 2 [chopped]
  • Onion -1 [chopped]
  • Ginger-1 tbsp [finely chopped]
  • Green chilli -1 [finely chopped]
  • Curry leaves-1 spring
  • Bengal gram – 1 tbsp
  • Urad dal – 1 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder- ½ tsp
  • Red chilli powder- 1 tsp
  • Oil – 3 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as needed

Method

  • Heat oil in a pan then add mustard seeds. Once its spluttered add Bengal gram, urad dal saute.
  • Add chopped onion sauté well then add ginger, green chilli, & curry leaves saute.
  • Add tomato, turmeric & red chilli powder sauté gently.
  • Add enough water and salt mix well and let it to boil.
  • Then add semiya and mix well. Cover it and cook.
  • Once moisture out from semiya cut off, cover it and leave it for 2 min.
  • Serve hot with coconut chutney
