Ingredients

  • Pattani [Dry geen peas]–1 cup
  • Garlic – 1 cloves[mashed]
  • Curry leaves – 1 spring
  • Green chilli – 1 [chopped]
  • Coconut - 3 tbsp [grated]
  • Coriander leaves – 2 springs [chopped]
  • Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
  • Red chilli powder – ½ tsp
  • Mustard seeds – ½ tbsp
  • Asafetida a pinch
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil – 2 tbsp
  • Water as needed

Preparation

  • WAsh & soak dried green peas overnight or 8 hours
  • Pressure cook soaked green peas for 4 whistles
  • Heat oil in a pan add mustard seeds, let it crackle.
  • Add garlic, green chilli, sauté till light brown.
  • Add curry leaves, & coconut saute .
  • Add turmeric & red chilli powder, sauté.
  • Add boiled green peas & salt mix well
  • Add coriander leaves sauté gently, cut off heat & serve hot with rice
