Ingredients

  • Samai rice (Little Millet) – 1 cup
  • Jaggery – 1 cup
  • Moong dal – ¼ cup
  • Cardamom powder – ½ tbsp
  • Cashew nuts – 7 [Ghee Fried]
  • Raisins[Kismiss] – 1 tbsp [Ghee Fried]
  • Ghee – 3 tbsp
  • Salt – a pinch
  • Water –5 cups for open pan, 2 1/2 cups for pressure cooker

Preparation

  • Heat 2 tbsp ghee in a pan roast cashews & raisins, keep it aside.
  • Dry roast & Wash samai rice and moong dal.
  • Heat 2 cups of water in a pan add moong dal & 1 tbsp ghee cook till soft.
  • Then add 3 cups of water let it boil then add little millet cook till soft
  • Heat jaggery with 1/2 cup water, let it melt for 3 min then drain to avoid impurities.
  • Add jaggery syrup to the little millet mixture, let it boil for another 5 min.
  • Finally add Cardamom powder, ghee & roasted nuts
  • Then cut off heat & serve hot
