Ingredients

  • Samai rice[Littlet millet] -1 cup
  • Coconut -1/2 cup [Grated]
  • Dry red chilli - 1
  • Green chilli - 2 [optional]
  • Ginger- 1 inch[finely chopped]
  • Curry leaves- 2 springs
  • Ground Nuts[Peanuts, Nilakkadalai]-¼ cup[Roasted, peel off the skin]
  • Mustard seeds- 1 tbsp
  • Urad dal - 1 tsp
  • Bengal Gram-1 tbsp
  • Black pepper - 7
  • Asafetida - 1/4 tsp [optional]
  • Coconut oil - 2 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Water - 3 cups for open pan, 1 1/2 cup for pressure cooker

Preparation Method

  • Boil littlet millet, spread over the plate to cool.
  • Heat oil in a pan, add mustard seed & let it splutter.
  • Then add Bengal gram, urad dal, dry red chilli, green chilli, roasted ground nuts,ginger, asafetida and curry leaves one by one.
  • Add grated coconut and salt mix well
  • Add boiled little and mix well.
  • Sprinkle coconut oil mix well & cut off heat, serve hot.
