Ingredients

  • Broken Red Rice– 1 cup
  • Yellow moong dal – ¼ cup
  • Jaggery – ½ cup [grated]
  • Cashew nuts – 7
  • Raisins - 6
  • Cardamom powder- ½ tbsp
  • Ghee – 4 tbsp
  • Water as needed

Method

  • Wash red rice & moong dal. Then drain water & put it in a pressure cooker with 2 ½ cups of water and ghee, cook for 4 whistles.
  • Heat pan & melt jaggery with 4 tbsp of water.
  • Heat pan with ghee then roast cashews & raisins.
  • Add melted jaggery, ghee and cardamom powder to the cooked rice mixture & mix well.
  • Finally add cashews & raisins then serve hot.
