Ingredients

  • Mochakottai[Field beans, Lima beans]– 1 cup [fresh]
  • Onion – 1 [sliced, For Navrathri Dont Add]
  • Garlic – 1 clove [mashed,For Navrathri Dont Add garlic, add ginger or asafetida or cumin seeds]
  • Curry leaves – 1 spring
  • Coriander leaves – 2 springs [chopped]
  • Green chilli – 1 [slit]
  • Coconut – ¼ cup [grated]
  • Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
  • Red chilli powder – ¼ tsp
  • Coriander powder – ½ tbsp
  • Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
  • Bengal gram – ½ tbsp
  • Urad dal – ½ tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil – 2 tbsp
  • Water as needed

Method

  • Boil mochakottai separately.
  • Heat oil in a pan then add mustard seeds. When its spluttering add Bengal gram & urad dal.
  • Add onion & garlic sauté till soft.
  • Add green chilli, curry leaves & 1 tbsp of coconut sauté gently.
  • Add boiled mochakottai, salt, turmeric, coriander & red chilli powder mix well.
  • Add coconut, mix well then cut off heat. Sprinkle coriander leaves mix well & Serve hot with rice
