Ingredients

  • Chilli [Milagai, Mirchi]-5
  • Besan [gram flour, kadalai maavu] – 1 cup
  • Rice flour – 3 tbsp
  • Rava - 2 tbsp
  • Red chilli powder – 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder- ¼ tsp
  • Asafoetida[Hing]- ¼ tsp
  • Oil - 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as needed
  • Oil – ¼ ltr [for frying]

For stuffing [Ingredients]

  • Potato -3 [boiled]
  • Ginger, garlic & green chilli paste -2 tbsp
  • Onion - 3 tbsp [finely chopped]
  • Corainder leaves - 2 spring [finely choped]
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • red chilli powder - ¼ tsp
  • Garam masala powder - 1/2 tsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan, add hing, onion, ginger garlic paste, boiled potato, red chilli powder, turmeric powder & garam masala powder, salt & coriander leaves saute & mash.

Preparation Method

  • Slit chilli lengthwise then remove seeds.
  • Stuff chilli with prepared potato masala
  • Add gram flour, rice flour, rava, salt, asafetida, red chilli & turmeric powder then add water mix well & make flowing consistency batter without lumps
  • Add 1 tbsp of oil into gram flour batter for crispiness & fluffy
  • Heat oil in a pan, dip stuffed chillis in the prepared batter, drop it in oil, deep fry till crisp & golden brown both sides on medium hot oil
  • Once its ready remove from oil, drain on absorbent paper & serve hot with tea or coffee.
