Ingredients

  • Green peas – 1 cup
  • Coconut – ¼ cup
  • Onion – 1 [sliced, For Navrathri-Dont add]
  • Green chilli – 1 [sliced]
  • Curry leaves – 1 spring
  • Coriander leaves – 2 springs [chopped]
  • Tumeric powder – ¼ tsp
  • Red chilli powder – ¼ tsp
  • Coriander powder – ½ tbsp
  • Lemon juice – 1 tbsp
  • Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
  • Sugar a pinch
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil – 2 tbsp

Preparation

  • Wash and soak green peas overnight. Then drain water & put it in pressure cooker cover it and cook for 3 whistles.
  • Heat oil in a pan then add mustard seeds. Once it’s spluttered add onion sauté till soft. Then add coconut sauté.
  • Then add green chilli and curry leaves. Then add turmeric, red chillli and coriander powder mix well.
  • Add green peas and salt mix well. Then add sugar mix well. Cut off heat add lemon juice and coriander leaves mix well & serve hot with rice or evening tea.
