Ingredients

  • Spinach – 1 bunch
  • Toor dal – ¼ cup
  • Yellow moong dal – 2 tbsp
  • Ginger & garlic – 1 tbsp each [finely chopped]
  • Green chilli – 1 [chopped]
  • Turmeric powder – ¼ tsp
  • Redchilli powder – ¼ tsp
  • Cumin seeds – 1 tbsp
  • Lemon juice – ½ tbsp
  • Hing - 1/4 tsp
  • Curry leaves - 1 spring
  • Dry red chilli - 1
  • Salt to taste
  • Ghee – 2 tbsp
  • Oil – 1 tbsp

Preparation

  • Pluck, wash & chop spinach.
  • Wash and boil toor dal & yellow moong dal with turmeric powder in cooker for 4 whistles.
  • Heat oil and ghee in a pan then add hing & cumin seeds.
  • Then add curry leaves, dry red chilli, ginger and garlic sauté gently.
  • Add green chilli and chopped spinach sauté gently
  • Then add turmeric and redchilli powder cook till soft.
  • Add cooked dal mix well then add salt cook for 2 min.
  • when boiling cut off heat & add lemon juice then serve hot with rice, chapthi.
