Ingredients

  • Assam Lemon – 4
  • Gingelly oil – 50 ml
  • Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
  • Fenugreek seeds– 1 tbsp
  • Red chilli powder– 1 or 2 tbsp
  • Turmeric powder – 1 tbsp
  • Asafetida – 1 tsp
  • Sugar - 1 tbsp
  • Sea salt as required

Marinade

  • Wash & wipe out assam lemon then cut into cubes.
  • Sprinkle sea salt, mix well and expose to sunlight for 2 days.

Seasoning & Preparation Method

  • Dry roast mustard seeds, Fenugreek, and grind to fine powder.
  • Heat 50 ml gingelly oil then keep it aside.
  • Heat 1 ladle sesame oil in a pan then add mustard seeds let it splutter.
  • Add asafoetida, red chilli powder, turmeric powder , sugar & freshly ground mustard and fenugreek mix well.
  • Add lemon & salt mix well mix well.
  • Add sesame oil mix well.
  • Once its ready, let it cool & Store it in porcelain jar (Optionally pour some more gingelly oil), serve with pickle, upma or chapathi.
